This is a cover I built for an apartment in New York City. The Top is Birds Eye Maple and the sides are Bubinga (Pommele Pebble Quilt). To take the heat the box had to be made out of plywood, then the box side where veneered with the high dollar veneer. I use a vacuum press and Titebond glue. When I use plywood I band all of the edges so there is no exposed plywood edges. The areas that could receive a bump are banded with solid wood.
What is that thing on the right hand side? That is a lift off cover to get to the shut off valve.
